How to make the relationship between two characters make sense?

I think i've been getting better at my character writing but i've hit a road block with two of my main ocs.

My OC whos the fallen god of death is against murder, they do not harm mortals, but believe that death in war and duels is justified but if one person is unarmed aka murder then thats an 'unatural' death in their eyes.

My second OC is a narcissit and a Celestial who was a Celestial maiden (whos since left her realm and is no longer a maiden), her entire job being slaying people that shes told too, whether they deserve it or not and its a major plot point that her realm is corrupt.

My issue is, is that idk how to make these two still friends without their pasts/morals clashing, they've been together since their creations and their stories are intertwined so much its impossible to pull them apart. Any advice is appreciated!
